Ok, one thing I've found so far... Is it possible to create an exterior (structure) wall from brick or concrete on the outside, but be able to add the new classy designs to the inside like wallpaper? So I can have a brick building to use as an office etc, but with nice interior walls? So far all I've been able to do is change (or create) the entire wall surface on both sides with the new design.

Yep, I see the that. No biggie. Although since I don't want exterior walls to be classy burgundy it's gonna take a little creative re-thinking.. I might have to actually include interior hallways! Ok Nat this has now gone from cool to a major inconvenience....

Maybe I'll go and play the Lego Harry Potter Collection for PS4 instead. You could take a leaf out of THEIR book. Now they really know how to develop a game

No, not yet. Only in so much as I opened a blank plot just to test all the new stuff before actually starting a proper build. As such I placed the hedge, the running track, etc, just to see what they looked like, but haven't actually used them properly yet.

I tend not to go for exterior beautification (I don't think I'm good enough) so I'm not sure about hedge mazes, I hadn't thought of that until you mentioned it here.

One thing I DO tend to do is make an outdoor complex, lots of separate buildings linked by pathways 3 tiles wide, and I have to say I really like the new sandstone for that.

(Oh and incidentally, I'd never played the Harry Potter games for PS3, but after picking up Harry for Lego Dimensions, I got the Remastered Collection last week and am very impressed. Nice job )

Thanks! It's super pretty. I didn't see it until it was already finished and was really impressed (particularly Diagon Alley!)

Also yes, the sandstone is great. It goes pretty well in a sand/grass/rocky cliff/river edge combo too if you ever decide to go full landscaper

One more time off topic, but there's actually a small pass through in my home town that reminds me a lot of Diagon Alley... It's a narrow cobbled lane with quaint red brick shops either side and a small cafe with tables outside etc etc.

There's even a Young Offenders Institute nearby but they don't have Sandstone...

Another addition I really like is the green Limestone. I love the description of it. The, uh, Jade Kilometre (what) is both one of my fave books and films and I wanted to create my own as soon as I got the game. I fudged it with grass but now Old Sparky can REALLY come to life.

Okay I promise I'll shut up after this, but, not sure if this counts as a bug report, but when I tried to run a hedge or a bamboo fence along the edge of a building, it treated them as wall tiles and attached. Kind of odd.

Wow, nice surprise to see a content update - although I'm sure some folks still won't be "content".

The Aliens decor is cool but this "Community" Update makes me want to build Greendale College.

Great to see hedges (that was on my wishlist) and hot showers without all that extra plumbing nonsense.

I've made walled mazes before (with lights added for a Pac-Man effect!) and the pathfinding is robust.

Most impressive though is how they fit those flat-pack guard towers into such small crates!

First of all..... Love this game

played it for days on pc, so much that i hurt my wrist doing it.
when i saw it is available on ps4 i bought it right away so i could enjoy playing with a controller on a better screen. Thank you for such an enjoyable game.

Yesterday i received the 1.05 update with loads of new content. One of the new items saw is the comfy bed. I replaced all my old beds with those so my inmates can enjoy a good nights rest. But oh no, they started rioting after a few days. So i checked needs and then i saw the clothing needs all red. Turns out the laundry crew collects the dirty uniforms, wash them clean, iron them, stack them in the laundry cart but DO NOT distribute them to the cells to and onto the new beds. After that i replaced the comfy beds with the regular ones and voila, got it working again like it should. Please fix this bug for us because the beds are pretty useless this way.

There are 2 more minor things which i'd like to see changed on the console version.
One is the auto lights placement. how do i disable it. I cannot can i?
Second is the guard patrol timetable. Why isn't it available on ps4. Now i assigned guard patrols to areas which are only visited by my inmates a few hours a day, the remaining hours are just wasted for those guards. I have to hire so many of them this way. Could i set their timetable i could fire at least a third of them, cutting cost and maxing effeciency.

Hey Paul,
I can see exactly you you want, and see why... Unfortunately there is no system for selecting/changing only one side of a wall, as we'd essentially need to allow the player to be able to choose two wall types per tile... which opens up other complications; the player could for example select a fence and a wall on one tile, and/or the game would need to be able to recognize which side it thinks you want to be the inside and which the outside. Sometimes it would make the wrong guess.

Another way I considered was applying a wallpaper to the insides of any room the player flags as an Office, but of course some players want to choose themselves.

Again I see your point, but it's a particularly challenging feature in this instance.

No biggie, in the time since that post I've actually re thought how I create rooms in an interior space and it's working for me. I love love love 99% of the update. In fact I've played so much I'm tired. And scruffy. If only I had clean clothes waiting for me on a comfy bed I'd be a happy camper.

There are some nice new flooring options, but is the "Solaco" spelling intentional?

One time I was watching a streamer playing on PC (with mods) and I suggested he add a red carpet in reception to welcome new intake - now I can do the same. In fact it could be handy throughout a jail for concealing blood stains if the prison inspectors are visiting!

I really like the new barred wall too but it doesn't join neatly to standard width walls above and it also gives awkward gaps when immediately adjacent to a perpendicular door. These gaps would be wide enough to be exploited by inmates - or the skinny ones at least.

Ooops. There's a couple of issues happening there. I kinda expected this, as the barred wall is a bit of a hybrid between a fence and a wall. However I've been discussing with the team some improvements we can make. If you try to line up a perimeter wall alongside a standard wall... that's the effect I want to go with :).
We'll also have a look at the gap left when adding a door near a corner.
