I am well aware that the flags most likely mean there is a hole near by whether it be a gopher hole, or a prisoner hole, and i know that there are false alarms sometimes... But can you explain why i have 30+ flags in a 12 unit radius. How can i actually uncover these tunnels and prevent them from happening?

Whoo that's a lot of flags! Is that a high traffic dog patrol spot? The flags warn you of a suspected tunnel but it's up to you to determine its origin. The only way to find a tunnel 100% is to dismantle the toilet as searching doesn't have a 100% success rate, but I normally find that a shakedown is sufficient as long as the tunnel passes more than one toilet (which is common if you have cells in a row).

Shake down the closest cell blocks until you find it

From my experience yellow flags are mostly false positives. I get alot of them around high traffic areas like delivery and such but most yellow flags actually come from the dang kennel lol. If the prisoners are stupid enough to tunnel out in my kennel let em. I blame gofers though

To have that many flags in a line like that is a dead giveaway of a tunnel though

I read somewhere flags aren't always a sigh of tunnels though I can't confirm if thats true or not. I had a idea when I first started playing that they were picking up on underground cables and pipes as the flags were always near them, any case even if it twas a tunnel they wouldn't be able to escape anyway unless they were really lucky and caught a shift change.

Yellow flags can be false alarms, however, if you see 30 flags in a row like the picture above shows then that's not a false alarm lol that's what I meant is the number of flags you see in the same area

I let my prisoners dig as they have no possible chance for escape anyway, its great exercise and if they are occupied digging they usually are pretty good as they don't want to get cell searched. I wonder if it does actually fill their exercise need though? Could explain why some people don't lift.
