Why wont my prison architect ps4 editon play offline

Just bought the game today secomd hand and the game wont play some help would be nice its the ps4 edition

I bought this game brand new and all it does is go to the main screen where you hit X to play and then says failed to connect to the internet and then does nothing else, no options just the screen that says prison Architect,. Been 2 hours and still nothing. So frustrated and I love your games and been waiting so long. So mad thanks and ease help me...
