When buildin a structure it should replace fences

When ever I go to build a structure it tends to be over a fence but the structure doesn't replace the fences with normal walls. I think it should replace the fences.

But the point is to do it yourself not have it do it automatically?

Thanks for playing Prison Architect and contributing to our community!

With regards to the fences, this is intentional. We would have to destroy the fences before being able to construct a wall in it's place. This could potentially lead to large openings that your prisoners could use to escape. Keeping the fence in this instance is the safer option.

My advice would be to expand your fence border first, then destroy the old fences before any construction takes place.

I play on both PC and PS4 and this is the same on all platforms. What I do is when I plan to build a structure where a fence is I go and construct the normal walls over the fence so its already replaced before I build the new structure. This is when the planning tool really helps you visualize and figure out where the walls and fences are going to be in relation to each other.
