The Inmate description part of create an inmate isn’t working

So I just got my preordered Prison architect game today with the code to create my own prisoner. Everything's all set, but the description part where you do a mad-libs type of description is broken. When I go to change the pre-selected lib with something else, it won't change to anything else. I was hoping this could get fixed before August 1st when the offer ends.
