Prisoner Stuck in Place Bug

Hello Team,
After building a fairly large prison, I decided to take in prisoners. When I did that, I received my prisoners, and they went about their business. Next thing I know, I have prisoners who are just stuck in place (2 of them.) I tried searching them, but that didn't work (To get them not stuck)... So they eventually died due to starvation. I found out that you have to punish them to get un stuck. Can we get this fixed? Thanks in advance for all the hard work you put in guys, fantastic game/simulation

Steps to reproduce
1. Start a new prison with unlimited funds.
2. Once you finish building, intake 100 medium prisoners.
3. Wait till you have a prisoner standing around not doing anything.
4. Punish him so he is able to move.

I have the same problem, i have a prisoner just standing in reception in handcuffs and no matter what i try the gaurds don't take him anywhere,
previously when i encountered this problem it was new prisoners with contraband on them and there was no solitary cells for them to go to but this time i have solitary cells so i have no idea what's wrong.

@petulant Do you have any solitrary cells available? I've found that if a new prisoner is slated for solitary and no cells are available they hang around in reception.

Yeah it's 9/10 either that there isn't an appropriate cell for them to go to (security sectors, needs solitary etc) or they're awaiting a spare guard. Can you confirm there's at least one valid cell for him to move to?

That suggests an answer to the solitary question but not whether there's a valid regular cell for him to go to. He might not be waiting to go to solitary.

I have empty shared cells and solitary cells which work, i even tried building a new solitary cell and hiring new guards but the prisoner is still in cuffs, still in lockdown, still doesn't have a cell, he's probably going to die soon and it's a shame because nobody has died on this game i'm doing yet.

My prison has plenty of spare valid cells and solitary cells and a holding cell all of which the other prisoners have used, in fact my prison has quite a variety of cells.

That's really weird. I can't replicate the issue as my standard intakes across all of my test maps just intake as normal, so without figuring out why it's hard to reproduce. Is there no status message when you hover over him, or does it just say lockdown? Two suggestions to 'reset' him:

1. Try a full-prison lockdown and then switching lockdown off. Vary rarely, items get stuck in 'search' and a shakedown/cancel clears that off so I'm working on the same principal.

2. Try saving the game to a new slot and re-saving.

Give those a go and let me know if either work.

@barticle mentioned in another thread that they've had an inmate pushed into a wall, which got them stuck. If they're on or very near to a wall it might be worth deleting the wall block to see if that fixes any path finding issues.

Thanks, it fixed itself somehow!
the last time i left the game he was in the road outside reception in handcuffs and when i put the game on just now he was in solitary, he had been in lockdown for 5 days.
One of the things i tried was punishing him, i put him in lockdown then solitary to try to get a guard to see to him and i wonder if that resulted in him being in handcuffs for longer, i still don't know how it happened or how it fixed itself because i had saved the game before and returned to it, i'm pretty sure it was a glitch though.

Wonderful! Sounds like something you did managed to 'reset' the little dude. I'm impressed he didn't starve. Look after that one
