Missing features on xb1 console edition. Misleading packaging

Hello. Amazing game, btw. Picked up a physical copy at walmart. Never even heard of this game until a couple days ago. Absolutely loving it.
Something that kind of bugs me though is that this game is advertised as being a preview version..... if you buy the digital download. The physical copy that I purchased had no indication that it was an incomplete game.
While watching some videos on youtube to get a little inspiration for my own build, I noticed some things missing from my game. Stuff like the option to have female prisoners, instead of male ones, or the inclusion of certain items, like the water boiler. Will these features be coming to console editions? I absolutely love this game, but I don't really want to buy a whole other copy for pc to get the full experience.

To be honest the reason why PC is a little different is because that's the original ppl who created the game they hired these guys to make the console version really great devs you don't have the preview version don't worry about that. Also they said if demand is high they will add more things

Thanks for the reply. It seems that this game has had a very good launch, so I'm not worried too much. Other game ports, such as minecraft, were extremely vanilla when originally ported to consoles, but quickly recieved updates with more content. This title seems to be doing very well, so I look forwards to what the future of prison design will bring for us console players.

It did very well but a lot of ppl had trouble with preorder codes but not there fault as they are not the ones selling it

Hi Mike, definitely not still in Game Preview, it came out to full release version on the 1st July. The Xbox store did keep the 'Game Preview' label on a couple of pages on the storefront though, despite it being the full version. This might have been what you saw!

In regards to your other question, @Jesseas123 hit the nail on the head. We'd love to keep supporting the game with new content going forward but it's all based on a complex mixture of sales and demand. If the community is there, and the community wants it, we'll consider anything (within reason!).

Demand seems High, it's just up to Devs to see if they want to invest putting more time into the game.

So demand needs to be high enough? ■■■■ that, I demand they allow us to change prisoner names. I downloaded this game with the expectation of being able to put my friends in Oz and keep them up to date with what happens. Seeing that I can't do the right now, I'm more than a little irritated.

Hi @GrizzlyTitan, I'm sorry that you feel that way. We have never advertised an in-game character creation and that's not a part of the PC version either. If you could direct me to anywhere that we've misled our customers on that front, I would really appreciate that, because we've tried to be as transparent as possible in our discussions of the game.

The console version was never intended to be a replication of the PC version, for lots of reasons, but a re-implementation designed to optimise the experience for console players.

On another message board that I often visit, a user was posting updates on his game where he was taking requests for other users names to be put in the game as prisoners. I only found out he was doing so on PC by editing the files. I understand that I probably should have done more research before spending my money. However, I see older games like XCOM have the ability to be able to change squad member's names, so it just seemed like a good enough idea to have in this game. I'm not a programer and I don't know ■■■■ about writing code, but being able to change a prisoners name might be something worth looking into. I'd love to be able to change a random prisoners name to that of a friends, than go tell my friend the story of how his PA avatar got shived by another prisoner during a riot because he was a snitch. Just my thoughts on the matter.

I love this game I really do but I'm wishing for some new content for consoles. The DLC sounds fun and could keep me entertained for a while if or when it goes on sale. But I really want some features from the original version. Such as dormitories, guard towers, snipers, and random events such as fires, water pipe breaks, or short circuited power lines. Or maybe some prisoner based events such as "protect prisoner x for x amount of days" or "lock up prisoner x, x, and x for x amount of days" you know something to keep things interesting as you build you prison.

Really loving the game new features would be amazing even if they we're paid dlc like escape mode it would also be great to move prisoners to specific cells
