I can't figure this one out. When it's shower time, nearly all my prisoners go to a cell that's on the corner of a block, and they all attempt to shower in that one cell, instead of their own cells that have shower, or the designated shower rooms, they'll walk right past them to group up in one guys cell to shower.

Ooh weird. I wonder whether someone has built a tunnel which has broken the water supply to the row of cells? Try a shakedown. Otherwise I'll have a play and see if I can replicate it to find out what the problem is. A screenshot of the layout would be helpful if you're able!

If there is a broken water line, it's not showing on my end, if they are broken, they are still showing as working normally.

That's so strange. Are they using the other rooms and walkways around is as normal?

They seem to be using everything else normally, and this only occurs during shower time, when they have free time, some prisoners do use the shower that's been built, but will ignore the showers in their cells and most prisoners go to one cell to shower.

I have noticed this a few times before as well. Same exact situation. I usually do a shakedown every 2-3 in game days just to make sure everyone is behaving themselves. It also gives me the chance to recruit informants. So it's rarely an issue with broken pipes due to tunneling.

its not broken pipes is just weird ai behavior... my solution was to give them an hour of lockup after sleep then they will shower in their own cells.

That's fine for now but personally I prefer to let them have as much freetime as I can. The only lockup they have in their regime is the hour before they go to sleep.

make it the hour after as sleep is what lowers hygiene in this game. basically lockup = shower if everyone has one in their cell otherwise the weird cluster thing.... also means you can re purpose your shower area.

I'll give this a shot, I'd like to have everyone using their own showers if possible, spending the money on shower heads, drains and pipes then not having them use them is frustrating. I could use the showers for other things as well instead of a room with shower heads that rarely gets used. They are getting upset because they don't shower, but ots not because I'm not trying to provide them the opportunity.

yea I don't understand howa prisoner with a shower in thei own cell can ever complain about hygiene... it is kinda your own fault if you don't use it right?

Mine were also doing this. To resolve it I just made an hour of lockup right after sleep so they shower when they wake up

Yeah, not showering in your own shower is the prisoners fault, I've also questioned the family need, maybe their family don't want to see or talk to them, but I'm willing to bet I'm looking way too deep into that one.

I think this is because the AI takes the closest route to the destination by air so if that's the closest shower to those prisoners they will use it. This can be remedied by doing an hour of lockup before showering so everyone is in their own cells. Or use community showers.

AHHHHHHHHH. Regime timing! @Skierky, you might be a genius. AI will always move to the nearest security compatible object to interact with, whether that's showers, toilets etc. Lockdown directly before showers, or showers directly after sleep (or a combination of the two!) will sort this right out.

That's how I set my regime. I see a lot of posts asking for the perfect regime and I learned you have to build your regime around the prison. I have showers at the end of my cell blocks and the canteen beyond the showers. Regime is sleep, shower, eat, yard and then work. The yard is central in the prison so from the yard everyone can branch out for work areas. Minimize walking time by minimizing distances between key areas!

Doing a lockdown does fix this problem for the most part, I still have the odd prisoner hanging out in another prisoners cell, but 99% of the issues are fixed by a lockdown time slot. Thanks for the assistance.
