Font too small in conversations

I am playing the XB1 preview game and I wanted to say the writing in the red conversation box (lower left of the screen) is very small. I have a 55" flat screen, so it's not that I have a tiny TV. I do have to get up to read anything in that box though. The box is big enough to support a larger font size- is it possible to make larger writing (even just in general) an option in future game updates? I know it seems weird, but visually impaired people love us some Xbox!

Is it anywhere else in the game a problem or just the Red Conversation boxes?

The red boxes are the worst, but to be honest, the other writing. like in the construction etc. mode and even within the prison itself could use embiggening. I just didn't want to ask for too much. But yes, it all is a bit too small. Thanks for the response!

Thanks for playing Prison Architect and feeding back to us about this issue, we really appreciate it.

The Xbox One and PS4 have both added zoom features for the visually impaired in recent firmware updates, instructions on how to access these features can be found at the following links;

There is currently a bug which automatically pauses the game if the guide button is pressed (which is necessary to access the zoom feature), we are aware of this issue and hope to have it fixed in a future update.

Hi Tom,
I knew about the zoom feature. I grew up with Atari, Trash-80s etc., and $5 an hour Compuserve, so I am grateful for the advancements in today's systems.

But, I haven't run into a game on my Xbox One where I've had to use the zoom feature. In battles, I admit I stand in front of the TV, but that's not only to see, it's also because I'm animated and tend to cuss at the enemy a lot. I also admit, I can't drive, IRL or game-wise, so any game involving that, I have a family member do the driving. Hello, Borderlands fantasy!

So, rather than just fixing the issue of the game pausing when the guide button is pressed, is it possible to maybe bump up the font size a bit for us O.G. (Original Gamer) types who still love to play the game? There has got to be more than just me (forever alone?)

Hi ShaniAnne

I've had a look into this further and unfortunately due to the way that text is handled, we're unable to increase the font size without it causing a lot of issues across the entire game.

This is because we have designed Prison Architect's UI to show as much of the prison as possible at any one time. To do that the UI needs to be as small as possible. If we were to increase the size of the font this would cause a large amount of text to overrun it's allocated area. Likewise we can't increase the size of the UI to accommodate the larger font as then we would have various UI elements overlapping each other.

I'm sorry we're not able to implement your suggestion and hope I've given a decent explanation as to why, from one O.G (Commodore 64!) to another, thank you for your support of Prison Architect and we hope you're still able to enjoy the rest of the game.
