Hey guys
After playing PA for a while now I have encountered a few things and have a few suggestions which I would like to put forth.. Lets start with the bugs.
Bed sprites will sometimes move by themselves. They will slip down (towards the bottom of the bed). This will cause the Cell to still be perfectly viable but the prisoner is unable to use the bed. Leading to the need not being met.
Sections of structure which have been removed, appearing as land, but still raised as it it where still structure. Unable to Bulldoze it, unable to do anything with it.
I am unsure if I am just bad or what this is but the contraband system seems very sensitive and I will gain contraband very very rapidly after a shakedown or cell block search. The little alert for "The Contraband levels in your prison are very high" seems to be popping up every 30 seconds to a minute. May be just a case of re-balancing or me being an idiot.
A section of my doors will not now go into standard operating mode. The mode can be selected but the forced open and forced closed symbols do not go away and the doors remain open at all times unless I force them to close.
UI suggestions.
Now maybe this is just me but I find it annoying that when I drop into a menu using the d-pad that it drops me to a list of the categories and then I have to select one. I would much prefer it dropped me directly into the section for structures or objects. This way it would be quicker and more convenient to use RB/LB to swap between the categories and would eliminate the secondary push of A to drop into the category. I feel that by dropping into Structures or Objects then it wouldn't be very jarring at all for players were as dropping directly into Power or Water changes the screen entirely and would be very jarring.
Regime in my opinion is very awkward. I am starting to get used to it a bit with the colors and so on but for new players they may have to crane their neck 90 degrees when they are learning what colours are what and what should be where in their prison. I feel this would be much improved by having a similar layout to the Intake UI. Different security denominations of prisoners at the bottom with a slide out tab (sliding upwards). The tab would contain a similar layout to what Regime currently is but it would be straight and not turned 90 degrees. Up and down on the D pad would move a cursor up and down on the slide out section with A serving to cycle through the activities and left and right on the D-Pad would move from one security rank to the other.Maybe press X to show all regimes side by side, in a scaled down version. Just a few thoughts but I believe that there are better ways to do this screen.
And that's all for now.I just want to say that I am very happy that D11 is on this game. These guys have a great pedigree and I am more than happy to have bought this game in preview with them at the helm.They are doing fantastic things here and proving that they are more than capable of exceeding expectations when it comes to "porting". One of the few companies that I would be proud to support and stand by.
