I have been trying the blueprint option but this is not adequate. First of all you can't choose really between foundation or real objects and doors. Also when you have drawn a blue print of your prison. When you choose to build the prison with it you can't choose between concreet of brick and the game just chooses brick! What's up with the blue print option? Can they make it easier or fix it?
The blueprints are just to be be used as guidelines really
Blueprint is supposed to be a very limited option. It's mainly designed for planning purposes, and we added in the ability to have it convert to a very basic building structure to save people a little time, if they so choose. It's not really designed so that you can set your build out in intricate detail because doing one mas build. I assume that's partly because that much instant activity would probably murder the game and make it grind out really slowly.

When I tested it (on PS4) I found that it used brick or concrete - it always copied the material I'd used most recently to manually build a wall or structure.
So if I'm correct, it picks the wall you used last? If for example I build one tile of brick and then I build a blue print it will build that material?
Yup, I tested it a few times and it always copied the last thing I built.
If you're ever uncertain which material you used last or need to switch then you can simply build one square of wall first as you suggest.
