So I've had the game a few months now and have to say I absolutely love it, but I'm far more into building a prison (often without putting inmates in it) than actually running it. I like to play with unlimited money, unlock the Beaurocracy tree as soon as possiblle and build what I consider a state of the art min sec jail, with all the bells and whistles like metal detectors, dogs, door control systems, luxury cells, etc etc. When I do decide to put inmates in all they do is act all, well, inmatey, and tear up my good work.
Having got the game used from a second hand shop on disc, I only bought the DLC a few days ago and decided, thanks to my interest in another gaming franchise, to look at Black Knight City. Holy Cow! I decided to play differently. I gave myself $500,000 and hired eight workmen (the same as a base game) and essentially just left them to it repairing everything the previous Gothamites - uh, residents - had damaged, and laying a water pipe network to connect all the existing sinks, showers and toilets. I acheieved this spending about $108,000!! After that, using most of the pre-constructed rooms and moving around the existing furniture and objects, I got back over my $500,000 by clever use of grants all without taking in a single inmate. I stopped at that point, slighty overwhelmed by the immensity (and it has to be said, incredible detail) in Ark - sorry, that is, Black Knight City. I decided that even though I had functioning and valid cells, canteen, kitchen, shower, etc etc etc, my layout was too vast given the starting design of the map. I also seemed to be dismanltling a LOT of filing cabinets!
I'm not done, and I will go back, but good Lord, this isn't going to be as easy as just stitiching a few Quick Rooms together on an empty field!
Thanks D11! Keep up the good work!
